Rootkit worm linked to hacker group in Middle East

Security sleuths at FaceTime Communications say they have linked a group of hackers operating in the Middle East to a worm that began spreading last month via America Online's Instant Messenger service.
Experts at FaceTime's security unit reported Thursday that the hacker group has seized control of at least 17,000 computers across the globe. The hackers have the capability to pilfer personal information from a computer's hard drive or remotely commandeer a PC to help launch attacks against companies or networks.

Microsoft enlists new buddies for antiphishing trip

Microsoft said Thursday that it has added three data providers in its effort to help customers thwart the information-stealing attacks that involve a technique known as phishing.
The software maker said it has struck deals with Cyota, Internet Identity and MarkMonitor, each of which will provide Microsoft with regular updates on confirmed phishing Web sites. The information will be used in a variety of Microsoft products, including its Internet Explorer browser, its Hotmail e-mail program and in Windows Live.

Implementing Web Standards In The Enterprise

Go to most enterprise class websites and look at the code. What you will most likely find is a twisted mass of inaccessible poorly written HTML and large amounts of JavaScript that will never validate. This bloated and malformed code wastes bandwidth, lengthens load time, limits the customer base able to use the site and is a maintenance nightmare.
Maybe you don't need to go to someone else's enterprise class site - maybe you can just look at your own. This article is for those of you working in the enterprise that understand web standards, need additional tools to get the standards message across to management decision makers, and are looking for a path forward after getting the go ahead.
